The Acts 13 Movement is the vision that God has given us for church planting. In Acts 13, we find the church at Antioch worshiping the Lord and fasting. The Spirit of God speaks to them with a new call, “set apart for me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them.” After they had spent time fasting and praying, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
This is the first time that the New Testament church was directed to be strategic in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Barnabas and Saul began to go wherever the Lord led them to go. They faced great opposition almost immediately, but they continued faithfully carrying out God’s directives. Soon, the Gospel was spreading like wildfire. The family of God expanded quickly.
Pastor Bill Dye believes that God has revealed to us the dismal state of the local church in Northeast Louisiana. Most churches are either plateaued or dying. The next generations are staying out of church. God has given us a calling to reach out to those in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s with the life- saving message of Jesus. Pastor Bill believes it is time for North Monroe to transition into a “SENDING” church, one that seeks the face of God for direction and then GOES out to work with Him to fulfill His purpose.
North, South, East or West, the situation is the same. We will be seeking God for clear direction each time we prepare to launch out. Our first church plant will be in Bastrop. This town has, by far, the largest population of any community within a 30 mile radius. Economic, religious and racial issues keep Bastrop in a constant state of depression. We believe Bastrop has the greatest need. We will follow God’s leading in sending people and resources to the need.
This is ONLY the beginning. He alone knows the next move. Our job is simply to fast, pray, watch, listen and OBEY!
North Monroe at Bastrop
North Monroe will launch a new campus in Bastrop, Louisiana, officially, on July 8th, 2012.
After much prayer and study, we have agreed with Grace Baptist, located at 358 Holt Drive, to assume full responsibility of leadership of all ministries as of the launch date.
We believe that God would have us to establish a ministry that will effectively reach all types of people in Bastrop and particularly those of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
To fulfill this calling, we are seeking 100 people who are actively attending North Monroe to commit to a one year period to worship and serve in Bastrop. Every area of service is needed from children, students and adult ministries to lifegroup leaders, greeters, media, worship band and more.
This is the first phase of the Acts 13 Movement that is beginning in our church family. We will continue to fast and pray and listen to what God says. Then, we will go and do whatever He leads. This will not be easy. There will be challenges ahead and obstacles to overcome. If God is in it, the “gates of hell will not prevail”.
It is time for North Monroe Baptist Church to transition into a sending church. It is time for The Army of God to launch an offensive to attack the strongholds that Satan has claimed. You pray and ask God to show you if Bastrop is the place for you.
We are praying for 100 regular attenders of North Monroe to commit 1 year to North Monroe at Bastrop. If you are interested in joining the team, click on the clipboard below to sign up.
